Made by the Chola dynasty, this temple was built in the 10th century and is the oldest temple of Bangalore. The temple faced damages hence was renovated 20 years ago.
Dodda Basavana Gudi
This temple is situated in South Bangalore and was built in 1537 by a local ruler of the Vijayanagara empire. The unique thing about this temple is that the granite structure of Nandi, a Hindu demigod in shape of bull is a single piece of rock. This temple is one of the outdoor wedding venues in Bangalore as many weddings take place in this temple in a year.
The ISKON:
This temple was built to commemorate Sri Prabhupada, the founder of the ISKON Society. The Krishna devotees religiously visit ISKON all over the country. This temple is known for its in-house Vedic Museum, a lecture hall and an exhibition center. The multimedia Vedic films are shown to the devotees in the ISKON Vedic Theatre.
Sugreeva Venkateshwara Temple:
This is one of the few temples which worships Lord Sugreev as its main deity, which shouldn’t be mistaken for Lord Hanuman. The only thing which helps the pilgrims to know the difference is the long teeth on either side of the idol’s face.
The Kanyakaparameshwari Temple:
Located in the south of Bangalore, this temple is very popular for marriages. People prefer this temple over the banquet halls in South Bangalore as it is believed that getting married in a temple is auspicious. The murals of this temple depict the scenes from Bhagavad Gita and Vasavi History.
